Dr.
Heather Keller, a Professor in the Department of Family Relations
and Applied Nutrition at the University of Guelph, is an expert in
nutrition and older adults. Through her research, she strives to improve
the nutritional state and health of older adults, whether they live
in communities or in institutions. Dr. Keller's research program is
comprehensive, ranging from screening and the assessment of nutritional
states to the evaluation of innovative interventions, food products
and programs. She has developed a wide collaborative network for research
in both community and clinical settings.
Dr. Keller has three research streams: 1) nutrition risk screening,
2) nutrition and aging well in older adults, and 3) nutrition and
dementia. She uses both quantitative and qualitative methods to answer
applied research questions. Translating this research and knowledge
to practitioners, families, and older adults is a priority.
